Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 21, 2026
This page explains how RightRole uses cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage and sessionStorage) to operate the service.
1. Essential Cookies and Storage
RightRole uses strictly necessary cookies and browser storage to provide the service. Without these, core features like signing in and navigating the app will not work.
- Authentication and session: tokens that keep you signed in across pages and refreshes.
- Security: tokens to protect against cross-site request forgery and abuse.
- Preferences: local settings such as theme, dismissed prompts, and recently viewed pursuits.
2. Analytics Cookies
When product analytics is configured for an environment, RightRole uses PostHog to record a small set of explicit product events (such as signup_completed, pursuit_saved, artifact_generated). PostHog sets cookies and local-storage entries to keep a stable anonymous device identifier and, once you sign in, to link the events to your account id. We do not use autocapture, session recording, or third-party advertising cookies. When the analytics key is not configured (for example on local development or self-hosted deployments), the analytics wrapper is a no-op and no analytics cookies are set.
The contents of your CV, job descriptions, prompts, AI completions, cover letters, champion/referral messages, and email bodies are never sent to PostHog. Properties are limited to a strict allowlist: user id, pursuit id, company id, route, source, artifact type, bucketed score (low/medium/high), tier, payment pack key, and invite id.
3. Browser Controls
You can clear or block cookies and site storage through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in or using core RightRole features.
4. Future Cookie Banner
A cookie consent banner is planned for when non-essential cookies or regional consent requirements apply. Until then, only essential cookies and storage are in use.
